On 29th December 2017, India Post issued this commemorative postage stamp featuring Rani Ki Vav.
Rani ki Vav (Queen's stepwell) is situated in the town of Patan in Gujarat. The stepwell was built around 1050 AD by the Queen of Bhimdev I of Solanki dynasty.
Rani Ki Vav was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list in 2014 and illustrates an example of the artistic and technological height of stepwell tradition. It has been decorated with religious, mythological and at times secular sculptures and reliefs, illustrating its craftsmanship and figurative expression.
