The United Nations Postal Administration (UNPA) issued a series of stamps on 16th July 2014, featuring the Taj Mahal as part of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites series. This series highlights the beauty and significance of the Taj Mahal, which was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983.

The Taj Mahal, located in Agra, India, was commissioned by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. Completed in 1653, it is renowned for its symmetrical design, intricate marble work, and its status as a symbol of eternal love.

The Taj Mahal represents the finest architectural and artistic achievement through perfect harmony and excellent craftsmanship in a whole range of Indo-Islamic sepulchral architecture.
